The
winner of the inaugural Wilson HTM National Art Prize (2008) was announced at
the Melbourne launch of the Wilson HTM National Art Prize Finalist
Exhibition at Sophie Gannon Gallery on Wednesday 13 February, 2008.
Chosen from 12 finalists, Sam Smith was awarded the overall $10 000 Wilson HTM Art Prize for his video work Street Shift. Kensuke Todo was awarded the $1000 Highly Commended Prize for his sculptural work JR Osaka Station.
Bianca Beetson is the winner of the $1000 People's Choice Award.
